Headstone insurance summary of cover.

 Most insurance companies will offer a level of cover as standard. The cover can be divided into two:
 
  • Damage to headstone
  • Your legal liability towards members of the public should your headstone cause an accident.
Damage to the headstone is more commonly caused by vandalism, and as long as the headstone is in a good state of repair it will be restored or replaced as new. If the headstone is not in good condition an allowance will be made for wear and tear. Please remember the insurance probably will not cover damaged caused by things such as gradual wear and tear, cleaning, normal settlement etc.
 
The liability towards public will be probably be limited per claim so check what this limit is, and that it is a reasonable amount. In today’s “claim culture” public liability is a must.
