When you have a pet they normally became a valued member of the family and are loved by all. Unfortunately there is a time when your pet has to pass over. This is a difficult time for you the pet owner, your pet is your companion and a very special friend, a difficult and very sad time for all the family.
Sometimes you have to take your ill or elderly pet to the vets and possible make a very hard decision to have them put to sleep. You can request to either stay with your pet and say goodbye or request to say goodbye before and then leave as some people find it very difficult to stay.
Although you will never forget your loving pet you may want a lasting memorial for them, a place for you and the family to visit to think of all the good memories.
Some people may not understand how hard it is to lose a pet, a special friend. This does not mean you cannot grieve and with a memorial bring closure.
You can either have your pet cremated or buried. If you wish you can keep their remains in a lovely urn to keep at home or scatter their ashes maybe in their favourite part of the garden or on their favourite walk.
You can also order a headstone or a bolder-type headstone where you can get a special message engraved for your loving pet to be remembered and place for you to visit; again you can put it in your garden or in an animal graveyard.

Check the churchyard regulations on which headstones or memorials can be placed in the church grounds.
